The SCANHEALTH project is making steady progress.

The Fundación Centro Médico de Asturias, led by Dr. Juan Cadiñanos, concluded February with 300 patients recruited for the SCANHEALTH project. This initiative is focused on developing and validating an innovative methodology for the early detection of cancer through liquid biopsy, FTIR spectroscopy, and advanced analysis powered by artificial intelligence.

The objective is to identify early indicators of cancer—primarily breast, colon, and lung—from a simple blood sample before symptoms manifest.

Thanks to the invaluable collaboration of our patients, we have achieved 10% of our initial two-year target (3,000 patients) in just two months.

This milestone has been made possible by the support of our funding entities (AGENCIA ESTATAL DE INVESTIGACIÓN, Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades, European Union, the commitment of our scientific and technical collaborators (Amber Health Solutions, Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute – IDIBELL, FIBHGM, and notably the HCMA Extraction Service) and the patronage of the Fundación María Cristina Masaveu Peterson.

Seguimos trabajando para mejorar el cribado del cáncer.
